The Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Abuja, His Excellency, Distinguished Sen Henry Seriake Dickson has called on the federal government of Nigeria to put a stop to the incessant killings and attacks across the nation.
Sen Dickson who’s also a former governor of Bayelsa state, while making his views known on the hills of recent attacks in Benue and Plateau States disclosed that he had called governors of the two states to express his condolences.
According Dickson “I have just had a telephone conversation with my brother and friend, the Governor of Plateau State, H.E. Governor Caleb Mutfwang, just as I spoke with his Benue State counterpart, Governor Hyacinth Alia yesterday”
The Bayelsa senator commended Gov. Mutfwang of Plateau State for his leadership, noting that his administration had reduced criminalities in the state until the recent attacks.
“I conveyed my condolences to him, the government and good people of Plateau State over the perennial attacks and massacres of defenceless and helpless communities in the state. I appreciated his leadership which has reduced criminality in the State until this recent attack.
All leaders and indeed everyone must work together to end this menace that has bedevilled almost all the states in Nigeria. It is time for the Federal Government to put a stop to this”, Sen Dickson stressed.
