…rescue kidnap victims 

The Joint Security operatives have arrested a gang of kidnappers kidnappers operating in parts of Anambra state.

The apprehended individuals are Chinonso Offor, native of Enugu State and resident of Ekwulọbịa, Hycent Ugwuike, native of Nsukka and resident of Onitsha, and Samuel Sunday from Akwa-Ibom but resident in Isuochi, Abia State.

A gun battle between the kidnappers and security operatives resulted in the rescue of the kidnapped victim, who was abducted at Neni by Okacha Junction.

Recovered items include two AK-47 rifles with live ammunition, fake police and army uniforms, two cell phones, two bulletproof vests, two walkie-talkies, one black Prado Jeep with registration number GWA – 696 CM ABUJA, and one Ash Lexus 350 with registration number EKY – 605GV LAGOS.

According to DSP Tochukwu Ikéngà, Police Public Relations Officer, the apprehended individuals have confessed to being members of the Indigenous People of Biafra. The individuals are currently in police custody undergoing further investigation.
