Regina Askia, born Imaobong Regina Askia Usoro on December 16, 1967, in Lagos, Nigeria, hails from Ukanafun in Akwa Ibom State.

In 1988, Regina Askia was crowned Miss University of Lagos. That same year, she contested in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant and emerged as the second runner-up.

Regina’s acting career took off in 1993 when she joined the Nigerian television soap opera Fortunes, portraying the character Tokunbo Johnson. This role earned her critical acclaim and recognition in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

She went on to star in numerous Nollywood films during the 1990s and early 2000s, including Most Wanted, Full Moon, Highway to the Grave, Suicide Mission, Man Snatcher, and Festival of Fire. At the peak of her acting career, she was one of the highest-paid actresses in Nigeria, commanding a fee of N300,000 per role

In 2007, Regina Askia made a significant career shift by relocating to the United States to pursue a career in healthcare. She earned her nursing degree from Wagner College in New York City and is now a certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Regina currently practices as a nurse in New York City.
