Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Command of the Nigeria Police have arrested suspected receivers of stolen items in Uyo, the state capital.
This was disclosed via a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Akwa Ibom State Command, DSP Timfon John.
According to the release “In a significant intelligence-led operation, Operatives of the Command successfully raided a location on Udi Street, Uyo, leading to the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of numerous stolen items.
Acting on credible intelligence and in compliance with the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare’s directive, an operation was launched at approximately 1:15am of May 23rd, 2025. The raid resulted in the arrest of Babangida Idris Usman and Awalu Abdullahi, both suspected receivers of stolen property.
Among the items recovered were 14 sewing machine heads and a generator. So far, two complainants have come forward and positively identified their stolen machines among the recovered items.
Investigation into the matter is ongoing”.
