Super Eagles and Galatasaray’s loaned striker, Victor Osimhen has revealed why he likes contributing financially to the Christ Embassy, saying that the Church had provided help for him when he needed it most.
Osimhen, who was quoted in a recent media chat revealed further that the Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s Church accommodated him for five months during his two-year break from playing football.
He said: “Many Nigerians and Africans say the church doesn’t help, but I have a different experience, thanks to Christ Embassy and Pastor Chris.
After finishing secondary school, I took a two-year break from playing football to support my family financially. As the youngest child, I wanted to contribute. That’s when I started working at Christ Embassy Church under Pastor Chris’s leadership. About 15 of us from the same neighborhood worked together distributing Rhapsody of Realities books and were well-compensated.
Through this experience, I met new people, made friends, and earned a good income.
Pastor Chris is a kind-hearted man who prayed for us, fed us, and even provided housing. I lived in the church for about five months, visiting my family only on weekends.
Today, I financially support Christ Embassy because I know the positive impact they have on our community. They help many people, even if it’s not always in the news. Churches have built numerous schools, hospitals, and community projects, such as water initiatives. We should appreciate the good work that churches like Christ Embassy do.”
