Men of the Akwa Ibom State Command of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested suspected hotel burglar and stolen items recovered.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Akwa Ibom State Command, DSP Timfon John, the police revealed that the suspect, one Mr Ifeanyi Nnadozie who was the security staff member of the hotel, has confessed to the crime.
“On July 25, 2025, operatives of the command arrested a suspect in connection with a burglary and stealing incident at a certain hotel (name withheld) located at Afaha Eket Road, Eket LGA”, the statement dated August 3, 2025 noted.
Providing more insight, the release added: “At approximately 2:00PM of July 25, 2025, a security officer of the hotel reported to the police station that the hotel’s storehouse had been broken into and several newly acquired bar chairs were stolen by unknown individual(s).
An immediate inquiry pointed towards Mr. Ifeanyi Nnadozie, a security staff member at the hotel, as the alleged perpetrator. Operatives promptly arrested Mr. Nnadozie.
“Investigation revealed that Mr. Nnadozie was on duty the day before the storehouse was burgled. A search conducted at his residence and premises led to the recovery of the stolen bar chairs. Mr. Nnadozie has since confessed to the crime. The suspect will be charged to court”.
