•Be careful of “Judas” driven by overambitious political motives -Akeweje

As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) resumes voter registration ahead of the 2027 general elections, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Akeweje Olayinka Fafoluyi (Solace), on Sunday, August 10, 2025, held a strategic meeting with APC youth and women leaders from wards in Irepodun Local Government Area. The discussions focused on voter registration, mobilization, and other party-related matters.

Youth leaders at the meeting included: Hammed Wasiu (Omu-Aran Ward 1), Ajiboye Olanrewaju (Oko Ward), Salako Kehinde (Omu-Aran Ward 3), Fatai Akindele Muhammad I. (Oro Ward 2), Abifarin Olamide (Esie-Ijan Ward), Oladele James Olushola (Ajase Ward 2), Aminu Ayodele Rafiu I. (Ajase Ward 1), and Awoniyi Shola (Oro Ward 2).

Also present were women leaders: Adeoti Adamo Dupe (Ipetu/Rore/Aran-Orin Ward), Hammed Abiola Rasidat (Omu-Aran Ward 1), Akinola Victoria Ibidun (Omu-Aran Ward 2), Korode Elizabeth Lola (Omu-Aran Ward 3), Risikat Adenike Sawo (Ajase Ward 1), Awelewa Olayinka Toyosi (Oro Ward 1), Olanipekun Awawu Olabisi (Esie-Ijan Ward), Motunrayo Atolagbe Bolanle (Oro Ward 2), and Olaoye Seun Kudirat (Arandun Ward).

Speaking at the meeting in Aran-Orin, Akeweje urged attendees to actively participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise, ensuring that APC members and eligible residents without Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) register before the exercise closes. He stressed the importance of mobilizing residents to registration centers.

“INEC will resume voter registration nationwide in preparation for the next general elections. This is an opportunity for those without a PVC to register and for those who have misplaced theirs to get replacements. Let’s inform our members and residents in our wards about this exercise and encourage them to participate before it ends,” Akeweje said.

He thanked the youth and women leaders for their loyalty to Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration and urged them to remain steadfast in their support as the Governor continues to fulfill his campaign promises to the people. He noted that the Governor is fully backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid and called for massive support to deliver Kwara for the President.

Akeweje also cautioned against aligning with individuals driven by overambitious political motives who secretly collaborate with the opposition PDP to undermine the Governor’s efforts. He reiterated the supremacy of the party over personal ambitions, urging full support for all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

“The President has been kind to us in Kwara. The best way to repay his kindness is by mobilizing massive votes for him. Let’s remain loyal to our leader, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and avoid joining forces with those whose selfish ambitions threaten the unity of our party. We are progressives, and we believe in party supremacy. Let’s stand with the Governor, support the APC, and vote for all our candidates in the coming elections,” he added.
