TITLE: When Delay Becomes Deadly, God Steps In
SCRIPTURE TEXT:
“That night the king could not sleep… and it was found that Mordecai had exposed the plot against the king.” — Esther 6:1–2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
When your life is one night away from destruction, the God of mercy can disturb a king’s sleep to secure your deliverance.
MAIN MESSAGE
Beloved, there are seasons where delay is not just frustrating — it is fatal. Mordecai had less than 24 hours before Haman’s gallows would take his life. But that night, the King of kings disturbed the sleep of Ahasuerus, and the book of remembrance was opened. By morning, instead of shame on the wood, Mordecai was clothed with honor.
This is how God acts when delay becomes deadly:
Mordecai (Esther 6): On the brink of execution, divine remembrance turned death into promotion.
David (1 Samuel 23:26–28): Saul’s men had encircled him; another hour, and he was finished. But a sudden messenger pulled Saul away. Destiny was preserved.
The Widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:12–16): One last meal and death awaited, until God sent Elijah to multiply her flour and oil.
Jacob (Genesis 33:1–4): Esau advanced with 400 men, but mercy turned wrath into embrace.
These were not delays that could be endured. They were deadlines that meant death. Yet the God of eternity interrupted time, suspended verdicts, and rewrote outcomes.
Hear this: the gallows built for you will not see your body. The encirclement around your destiny will scatter before it closes in. The “last meal” you thought was the end will become the beginning of sustenance. And every Esau rising with anger will be disarmed by the mercy of God.
I declare today: whatever deadline has been set against your life, health, family, finances, or ministry — the God of Mordecai and David will step in. Delay will not destroy you. Heaven will interrupt the night and secure your victory.
CLOSING PRAYER POINTS
1. O God of Mordecai, disturb the sleep of every king until my book of remembrance is opened, in Jesus’ Name! Amen!
2. Lord, interrupt every enemy that has cornered my life and scatter their pursuit, in Jesus’ Name! Amen!
3. Father, turn every gallows into honor and every verdict of death into life, by the blood of Jesus! Amen!
