KWSIEC supports INEC’s Continuous Voter Registration exercise, urges Kwarans to register, update

 

The Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC) has declared its full support for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as it commences the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise on Monday, August 18, 2025.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of KWSIEC, Mallam Baba Okanla and obtained by Just Event Online TV , the commission described the exercise as a vital step towards strengthening Nigeria’s democracy and ensuring that all eligible citizens are able to register and participate in upcoming elections.

According to the statement, voter registration remains the foundation of credible elections, and the CVR initiative will deepen inclusiveness and representation across the country.

According to the release, the exercise covers citizens who have just attained the registration age of 18 years.

Registered voters who have relocated from their original place of registration.

Individuals who have lost or misplaced their Permanent Voter Card (PVC), provided they present a court-sworn affidavit.

Holders of PVCs that are defaced or damaged.

KWSIEC urged all Kwarans to take advantage of the opportunity to register, update, or transfer their voter information to ensure their voices are heard at the polls.

The commission also reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with INEC to promote electoral credibility, transparency, and citizens’ participation at both the national and grassroots levels.
