A suspected kidnapper, identified as Khadijah from Ile Lase, Oke-Apomu area of Ilorin, was apprehended this morning at about 10:25 a.m. at Ipata Market.
According to eyewitnesses reports, Khadijah was accosted by residents who suspected her involvement in a kidnap-related activity.
In the process, she was reportedly found with four ATM cards in her possession. Her mobile phone was also damaged by angry youths during the confrontation.
It was gathered that the situation drew a large crowd in the community, as tension rose while residents demanded explanations regarding her activities.
Security operatives were later alerted to restore calm and take control of the situation.
At the time of filing this report, it was not yet clear if Khadijah acted alone or had accomplices. Authorities are expected to carry out further investigations into the matter.
Community leaders have urged residents to remain vigilant but avoid taking laws into their own hands, emphasizing the need to hand over suspects to law enforcement agencies for due process.
