2027: ADC Coalition Leader, Uduak hails Party unveiling in Akwa Ibom

…harps on unity, love

By Our Correspondents

The Coalition Leader in Akwa Ibom State, Obong (Dr) Uduakobong Udoh has welcomed the unveiling of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state, describing it as a booster to the struggle towards political and economic emancipation.

Obong Udoh who stated this while delivering his Keynote address on Saturday, 13th September, 2025, during the official flag off of the ADC in Uyo, noted that with love and unity of purpose, the task of unseating the All Progressives Congress (APC) government, was achievable.

“The Chairman’s speech has captured everything I would have said here today, therefore, I won’t say much. The only thing I am going to say today is that we have a big task ahead of us. But without love, without unity, we will not achieve this”, Obong Udoh reasoned.

Speaking further, Obong Uduak Udoh, who was the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 gubernatorial election in Akwa Ibom State, reminded the ADC stalwarts of the biblical story of the building of Tower of Babel, a project he noted was going smoothly as long as the people spoke one language and worked together.

He continued: “But God said that because they have gathered and they are speaking one language, they would succeed, and so God had to destabilize them by making them speak different languages.

What this teaches us is that if we speak in one voice with unity, love and togetherness, this mission will be accomplished. This message is to all of you seated in the pew and also to all of us here on the podium. Let’s downplay our individual differences and interests and work together for the sustenance of the ADC Coalition in this state”.

Speaking further while fielding questions from newsmen on the sidelines of the event, Obong Uduakobong Udoh expressed the hope that with the mammoth crowd which turned out for the unveiling; unseating the APC government in Akwa Ibom State was certain.

“The huge crowd you have seen here today is a result of the massive work of mobilization that we have been doing in the last few months. What we did was to secure a befitting edifice for the opposition coalition in the state. And, the opposition coalition office serves as a rallying point for everyone interested in joining us.

Since then, we have been receiving many socio-political groups, leaders of different political parties including aggrieved members of the ruling APC in the state. They have been coming to the Coalition State Headquarters office to declare their support for the movement. That is why it’s easier to get them mobilized to this event.

The opposition coalition has come to stay and, with what you have seen today, unseating the APC government would not be too difficult because people are not happy with what is going on in the state”, Uduakobong noted.

The ADC formal launch which was hosted by the State Chairman, Rt. Hon Duke Dick, also had in attendance notable politicians in the state including a former National Caretaker Committee Secretary of the APC and 2023 governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP); Distinguished Sen John James Akpanudoedehe.

Others were: Assistant National Organizing Secretary, South South; Dr. Ben Smith, National Vice Chairman (Diaspora), South South; Hon Augustine Ekanem, Founder, De-Wise Movement, Akwa Ibom State; Elder Wisdom Udoka, founder of ATM; Amb. Enobong Inyang a.k.a Don-P, and a host of others.
