In his usual act of love, harmony, and benevolence, Barr. Pius Akutah, MON, Executive Secretary/CEO of Nigerian Shipper’s Council, has used this year’s “International Day of Peace 2025,” with the theme, “Act Now for a Peaceful World,” to calling for concrete actions from individuals and government across board to mobilize for peace, urging a shift from rhetoric to practical steps that build understanding, promote non-violence, and foster respect for diversity.
Barr. Akutah, a legal luminary, renowned public servant, quiet, strategic, tenacious, and tactical leader, draws his opinion from the SDG Goal-16, titled “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions,” is demanding for leadership that promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, leadership that provide access to justice for all, leadership that build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels in the interest of all stakeholders in the system.
The Executive Secretary/CEO of Nigerian Shipper’s Council, emphasizes that our diverse perspectives, cultures, and backgrounds should serve as our source of strength, innovation, and a stronger, more inclusive, and indivisible nation, especially when we learn to work together for a common purpose.
He concluded that harmony and peace can be achieved by accepting and leveraging the differences among people rather than suppressing them.
It could be recalled that Benue people in search of a pragmatic, just, and effective leader has recently channelled their torchlight towards chief Akutah’s direction for Benue Governor 2027. The movement is strategically consulting stakeholders, and the acceptance is overwhelming.
