“His unification efforts paying off” -AYC

The homecoming meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC, called by the governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Ph.D, has been identified as a strategy that would help in uniting all Akwa Ibomites for peace and progress.
This thought was shared by the State Chairman of the APC Youth Caucus (AYC), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Comrade Victor Etim during a chat with newsmen after the group’s meeting held yesterday, Sunday, at the Discovery Park, Uyo.

Comrade Etim, while extolling Gov Umo Eno’s leadership style, also lauded what he described as the positive paradigm shift in political inclusion currently being experimented by the governor.
“This is the kind of governance we’ve been longing for, as a political party in Akwa Ibom State”, the AYC helmsman hinted, noting further that the governor’s move exemplified taking governance back to the people at the grassroots.
Comrade Etim continued: “Yesterday, 22nd November would remain indelible in our minds. It would remain a reminder of the day His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno began the process of taking governance back to the people at the grassroots.
Before now, we used to hear political party meetings being convened by our past governors only at the Banquet Hall of the Government House on Barracks Road, Uyo. Only few elites would be invited to such meetings and when they returned from such meetings, whatever they tell the people at the grassroots is what they would take.
“But yesterday, the governor ensured that all the Local Government Council Chairmen in the state convened the Homecoming meeting and all government appointees and elected officials were in attendance.
This is a practical display of the Governor’s unification efforts and it is paying off. This is people-oriented governance. I pray that it continue this way”.
Declaring the group’s unalloyed support to the governor, Etim said: “As a frontline socio-political organization within the party, the leadership and entire membership of the APC Youth Caucus, Akwa Ibom State, are solidly behind His Excellency, the Governor. We will work assiduously towards ensuring that come 2027, the governor is re-elected to continue in his people-centric governance”.
It would be recalled that the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno had instructed that all Local Government Chairmen and government appointees should convene simultaneously on Saturday, November 22, 2025, a meeting of all stakeholders and members of the APC tagged “APC Homecoming”, in their respective local government areas.
