Breaking! Finally, court sacks Abure, orders INEC to recognize Nenadi Exco
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, sacked Mr Julius Abure as the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP).
The Court also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to recognize Sen Nenadi Usman and her team as the lawful National Chairman and national executives of the party.
Recall that after the 2023 general elections, the Labour Party which came third in the election was plunged into serious leadership crisis following the expiration of the Abure-led national executive.
Abure, who also had some state executive committees loyal to him, refused to quit thereby resulting in an understanding legal battles.
The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party and former governor of Anambra state, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi recently left the party and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
