Governor of Plateau State; His Excellency, Barr Caleb Mutfwang has concluded plans to quit the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Also to defect along with the governor are members of his cabinet, 17 local government Chairmen and the structure of PDP in the state.
A statement signed by Dr. Zara; SSA Media (PR) indicates that the Vice President, Sen Kashim Shettima, National Chairman of the APC; Prof Nentawe Yilwatda would be on hand to receive the governor and other defectors on Wednesday, 2th January, 2026.
The statement reads “The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, is set to receive Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, alongside his commissioners, the 17 LGA chairmen, and the entire PDP structure in Plateau State, joined the APC on Tuesday, 27 January 2026.
“Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to be present, alongside APC governors and members of the National Assembly”
