Shocking! Yoruba billionaire, Fayose slams Igbos for abandoning Kanu, joining Tinubu

…the 2027 presidential election’s connection

By Kehinde Martins

A Yoruba business man, Mr Isaac Fayose has lambasted some Igbo elites for abandoning the convicted leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Sokoto prison, to according to him, support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In a video currently circulating online, the billionaire Fayose was heard calling out the Igbos, though at some points, acknowledging that he has strong affinity with the them, out of whose stalk one of his two wives comes from.

He said he has two wives, one of which is a foreigner, while the ‘black’ is Igbo.

He lamented that Igbo people were so easy to buy politically, and taunted them for flaunting APC cap, driving flashy cars with untraceable sources of wealth.

“Nami Kanu is in prison in Sokoto, while his brothers flaunt APC cap of mandate, driving flashy cars with untraceable sources of wealth.

I’m a billionaire, and my wealth is fully traceable. I’m worth £11 million. I’m richer than many of them, yet I don’t need a police escort; I walk alone”.

Isaac Fayose is a Nigerian businessman and the brother of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose. He’s been involved in various business ventures and has been in the news for several reasons, including his marriage and family life.

Recall that some notable young Igbo businessmen and celebrities have recently been appointed as leaders in the re-election campaign structures of the incumbent President Bola Tinubu.

Notable amongst some Igbos recently appointed are Obi Cubana and Cubana Chief Priest.

Obi Cubana and Cubana Chief Priest are two prominent figures in Nigeria’s entertainment and hospitality industry.

Obi Cubana, whose real name is Obinna Iyiegbu, is a Nigerian businessman, socialite, and philanthropist. He’s the founder and Chairman of the Cubana Group, which operates several nightclubs, hotels, and restaurants across Nigeria.

Obi Cubana was born on April 12, 1975, in Anambra State.

Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, is an entrepreneur, show promoter, and social media personality. He was the General Manager of Cubana Group and is known for his vibrant personality and connections with celebrities.

Cubana Chief Priest was born on April 2, 1981, in Imo State.

Their recent appointments into the Tinubu campaign structures along with others have not gone down well with Isaac Fayose who, though covetly, views their actions as betrayal of Mr. Peter Obi.

Mr. Peter Obi,  an Igbo and former governor of Anambra state, had contested the presidential election in 2023 on the platform of the Labour Party and came third, after Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Obi, who recently decamped to the African Democratic Congress, ADC, is apparently contesting again in 2027.
