Lured, Kidnapped, Strangled By Friends: Story of 17yrs old Thompson
Photos and video of a 17-year-old boy, Thompson Adams, who was killed by former classmates and friends after he was kidnapped for ransom have emerged.
The suspects have been identified as Elijah Emmanuel, aged 23, and Tony Ogenata, 21. According to preliminary investigation, the suspects allegedly lured Thompson Adams Omokafe to their apartment, where they strangled him to death and later dumped the body in a canal in Awoyaya, Ibeju-Lekki. The suspects escaped to Ikorodu where they were eventually arrested.
Initially, they had demanded for one hundred and fifty million Naira (N150,000,000) as ransom from the victim’s family but ended up getting N200,000.
The family said their son’s traumatic death and the profound impact it has created on the whole family is one no other family should ever have to endure.
A family member who posted the unfortunate development on social media urged the general public to help spread awareness as a caution to others.
“I share this story not only to grieve, but to seek justice and ensure that no other family has to endure what we have. I urge you to help us spread awareness, so that Thompson’s story leads to action and protects other children from this kind of tragedy,” a family member said
A screenshot of text message where the suspects threatened to kill Thompson should the family refused or failed to ‘play by the rules’ has also been made public.
As at the time of this report, our paper has yet to get an official statement from police authorities on the alleged crime.
Meanwhile, a video of the suspects confessing to the crime is being circulated on the social media.
