ILORIN, Kwara State— As political alignments begin to take shape ahead of the 2027 general elections, Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari, MFR, has been described by party stakeholders as the most credible and unifying option to lead the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State.

In a press statement endorsed by his New Media Team, the group said Seriki’s track record of service, grassroots mobilization, and commitment to party ideals has continued to set him apart within the Kwara APC structure.

According to the statement, the Ilorin-born businessman and philanthropist has earned wide respect across the party for his charisma, proven leadership capacity, and dedication to the progress of the APC in the state.

“Amb. Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari, MFR, continues to stand out as one of the most respected and dependable leaders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State,” the statement noted, adding that “His ability to unite people and inspire confidence remains one of his defining qualities.”

Feelers from early conversations around 2027 have already started within the ruling party in Kwara, with many members looking for a figure who can consolidate the gains of the party and expand its support base. The New Media Team argued that Seriki fits that description.

The statement highlighted his years of humanitarian service and grassroots empowerment as key factors that have strengthened his connection with communities across the 16 local government areas of the state. It maintained that his approach to politics has largely focused on putting the interests of the people above personal gain.

“Through years of humanitarian service, grassroots empowerment, and active support for the ideals of the APC, Yahaya Seriki has built a reputation as a leader who places the interests of the people above personal gain,” the team stated.

Party faithful interviewed across Ilorin, Offa, and Lafiagi in recent weeks have also pointed to Seriki’s accessibility and generosity as reasons for his growing popularity. Many describe him as a leader who maintains direct contact with ward executives, youth groups, and women leaders, a style that has helped him build loyalty at the grassroots.

The New Media Team further noted that Seriki’s commitment to the development of Kwara State has earned him admiration beyond party lines. It said his interventions in education support, healthcare outreach, and youth empowerment programs have positioned him as a bridge-builder within the APC.

“As conversations about the future of the Kwara APC continue, many stakeholders and supporters see Amb. Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari, MFR, as a unifying force capable of strengthening the party and securing success in 2027,” the statement said.

Kwara APC has maintained control of the state since 2019, and strategists within the party believe that unity and credible leadership will be critical to retaining power in the next election cycle. Analysts note that figures with strong grassroots appeal and the capacity to manage internal party dynamics are likely to play central roles in shaping the party’s direction.

The media team expressed optimism that with collective support, the party can achieve greater heights under leadership that prioritizes inclusiveness and service delivery.
