The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, candidate for Lagos State House of Assembly, Amuwo Odofin Constituency II, Hon. Thomas Victor Onwubiko, popularly known as TVO, has described the party’s Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, as a symbol of hope and a model of purposeful leadership as the former Anambra State governor clocks 65.

In a goodwill message released on Sunday, Hon. Onwubiko joined millions of Nigerians and supporters across the country to celebrate the milestone birthday of the statesman, noting that Obi’s life in public service continues to inspire a new conversation about integrity and accountability in governance.
“Mr. Peter Obi is an exceptional statesman, a visionary leader, and a consistent advocate of good governance,” Onwubiko said in the statement signed by the TVO Media Team.
The message added: “His unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and national development has continued to give millions of Nigerians reason to believe that a better Nigeria is possible.”
The Lagos Assembly hopeful praised Obi’s track record in public office, particularly his reputation for prudent management of public resources and his dedication to putting people first. According to him, those qualities have earned the former governor admiration both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, where Obi’s message of frugal leadership and investment in human capital has resonated widely.
Hon. Onwubiko said the celebration of Obi’s 65th birthday should go beyond personal tributes, stressing that it presents an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the values the celebrant has embodied throughout his career.
“The celebration of His Excellency’s 65th birthday is not only a personal milestone,” he noted. “It is also a moment for Nigerians to reflect on the values of integrity, discipline, accountability, and purposeful leadership that he has consistently demonstrated throughout his public life.”
He prayed for God’s continued guidance, sound health, wisdom, and strength for the NDC presidential flag bearer, expressing confidence that Obi would remain a significant voice in Nigeria’s democratic growth and national development in the years ahead.
Beyond the felicitations, Onwubiko used the occasion to charge members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress and Nigerians at large to mark the birthday by recommitting to the ideals Obi represents.
“I call on members of the NDC and Nigerians everywhere to celebrate this occasion by embracing the ideals of integrity, selfless service, patriotism, and good governance, which Peter Obi has consistently exemplified,” he said.
The message concluded with warm congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, with prayers for many more years of impactful leadership, peace, good health, and divine blessings in service to Nigeria and humanity.
Peter Obi, who served two terms as Governor of Anambra State and was the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the last general election, turned 65 on Sunday. His brand of politics, centered on cost-cutting, education, and health investment, has made him one of the most discussed political figures in the country.
Hon. Onwubiko is currently campaigning to represent Amuwo Odofin Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly under the NDC platform.
