A renowned Nigerian clergyman, His Grace, Prophet Ekong Ituen, has called for prayers for Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, saying he received a revelation of a political conspiracy aimed at stopping her from returning to the Senate in 2027.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Prophet Ituen who is the Founder and Spiritual Leader of Christ Deliverance Ministries, CDM, Lagos, described the senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District as “a good woman and philanthropist” who has done well for her constituents through empowerment projects across the district.

According to him, divine insight showed an organized effort to block her reelection bid.

“In my revelation, I saw a serious political gang-up and conspiracy against her victory at the forthcoming 2027 general election, to ensure she doesn’t return to the Senate,” Prophet Ituen revealed.

He urged members of Kogi Central, religious leaders and supporters to offer “fervent prayers for divine intervention” on behalf of the senator, stressing that spiritual backing would be needed to overcome the alleged plot.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, who serves on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, has gained visibility in Kogi Central since the 2023 elections. Her office is known for constituency programs including skills acquisition trainings, educational support for students, and grants for small businesses and women traders in the five local government areas of the district.

The Man of God did not name any individuals or groups in connection with the alleged gang-up but hinted that the said the message was meant to alert the public and mobilize prayer support ahead of the polls.

Some political stakeholders in Kogi state, while speaking with our Correspondent on the revelation noted that conversations around the 2027 general elections have started gathering pace, with early positioning already visible in Kogi Central. The senatorial seat, it was learnt, is expected to attract intense contest given the district’s voting strength and the senator’s profile over the last three years.

Feelers indicate that constituency delivery and grassroots mobilization will likely shape the Kogi Central Senatorial District race, alongside party dynamics.

It could be recalled that the Lagos-based cleric became famous for his prophetic declarations on national and international issues, most of which as have been reported in the media came to fulfilment.
