...advises Rivers State governor to seek Divine intervention to avert last minute pitfall, embarrassment
Prominent cleric in Nigeria, Prophet Ekong Ituen has issued a fresh spiritual warning to Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, saying he foresees “another round of trouble” and a possible political pitfall before the governor completes his tenure.
In a statement released on Friday, the prophet said divine intervention would be needed for a smooth handing-over at the end of Fubara’s administration.
According to the Founder and Spiritual Leader of Christ Deliverance Ministries, CDM, Lagos, the revelation points to looming political embarrassment and allegations that could trail the governor after leaving office.
“You need divine intervention for a smooth handing-over,” Prophet Ituen said.
He continues “In my revelation, I saw another trouble looming. There is a political pitfall awaiting you. Pray against political embarrassment before the end of your tenure.”
He added that, as reflected in the spiritual realm, “Governor Fubara will be charged for alleged financial misappropriation after his tenure.”
The cleric urged the governor and his supporters to engage in prayers to avert the situation, noting that prophecy is meant as a warning and can be averted if the right steps are taken.
This is not the first time the Akwa Ibom-born prophet has spoken publicly about Governor Fubara’s political future. In a post dated January 5, 2026, he recalled how he earlier warned the governor about neglecting “several spiritual directives to safeguard your political future,” adding that it had “reflected in the spiritual realm, that either you will be impeached or denied ticket for second term.”
As far back as January 9, 2024, Prophet Ituen was quoted in Vanguard newspaper, page 27, advising Fubara to “ignore political sycophants and urgently make peace with Barr. Nyesom Wike, to avert impending political embarrassment awaiting him.” He described the governor’s political future at the time as “very dicey.”
Following President Bola Tinubu’s intervention in the Rivers political crisis, the prophet again weighed in on December 19, 2023, saying: “I foresee political wrangling ahead that will affect the governance of the State. I pray for peace and also urge Nigerians to pray for God’s intervention.”
Prophet Ituen further stated that he had also cautioned former Governor Nyesom Wike, saying: “I warned former Governor Nyesom Wike that Governor Fubara would betray him.”
In his latest note, Prophet Ituen stressed the purpose of prophecy. “Note: True Prophets are warners, while Prophecy is a warning and a clue to the future, it can be prevented if the right steps are taken.”
