…vows to punish defaulting ADC members

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, Akwa Ibom State Chapter has dissociated itself from a gathering planned to hold in Uyo tomorrow, Friday, 29th November, 2025, purported to be an ADC event.

In a disclaimer dated 28th November, 2025 and signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Barr. Manfred Ekpe, the party said the event is not organized by the ADC but “… gathering of dissidents led by one Dr. Usani Uhuru…”

The statement reads: “It has come to the attention of ADC, Akwa Ibom State chapter that dissidents and non party members purport to schedule a gathering tomorrow 29/11/2025 at Grace Rendezvous and Restaurant (R&R), adjacent Women Development Centre, Uyo.

This is to notify all the card carrying members of ADC that the Party has not sanctioned such gathering and it is not an ADC gathering but gathering of dissidents led by one Dr. Usani Uhuru who was suspended by the National Working Committee of our great party on or about 20/10/2025 for anti party activities”.

While warning its teaming members not to attend the event as defaulters shall be deemed to have committed anti-party and sanctioned, the ADC lampooned the 2023 governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) in Akwa Ibom State, Sen John James Akpanudoedeghe for teaming up with dissidents for the disclaimed event.

The statement added: “One Senator John James Akpan Udoedeghe having failed to arrest and takeover the soul and structure of the Party in Akwa Ibom State, and who has since gone out of favour with the National leadership of our great party is now teaming up with dissidents for the planned charade”.

“Any member of ADC who attends the said event shall be cited for anti party activity and shall be sanctioned in accordance with the grundnorm of the party”, the party warned.
