…begs Gov Umo Eno for intervention

To Emmanuel Edem, the much-talked-about International Worship Centre in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State is a curse, rather than a blessing, as he described his experience as “unfortunate”.
Edem, a retired public servant who relieved his experience via a social media post, blamed construction giant, Julius Berger Plc for not providing drainage system for the “gigantic building”.
According to Edem: “This is the aftermath of today’s rainfall in Uyo. The flood is caused by the non provision of drainage system for the Intnl Worship Center constructed by Julius Berger PLC. It is rather unfortunate that the rain water from that gigantic building is channelled to our houses behind the Complex.
My house as depicted in the picture is worst affected as I am directly behind the Complex. This situation has been the case since the inception of that project. All efforts to get State Government intervention has been in vain”.
While lamenting that his parlour, rooms and other parts of his building were badly affected by the flooding, Mr. Edem appealed to the State governor, Pastor Umo Eno to impress upon Julius Berger the need to commence abandoned drainage system around the Nnung Oku axis of Uyo.
“My Parlour and rooms are all flooded, the fence and soak away has collapsed. I am appealing to the State Government to come to my aid. Governor Umo Eno PHD please urged Julius Berger PLC to commence the abandoned drainage job along the Nung Oku axis that could see to the end of this flooding in the area, please”.
Our Correspondent who visited the Afaha Ikot Obio Nkan area shortly after Saturday’s downpour for an on-the-spot assessment, reported that most parts of the environ hosting the International Worship Centre were practically flooded.
The International Worship Centre was built by the immediate-past administration of Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
