The leadership of the APC National Youth Caucus, NYC, Akwa Ibom State Chapter says the defection today of the state governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno into the All Progressives Congress is the right step in the right direction, noting that it would further help him deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
NYC in a goodwill message signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ime Silas, also described the governor as peace-loving, adding that his peaceful disposition on issues of governance has enhanced development across different facets of the state.
Parts of the message read “The APC National Youth Caucus, NYC, Akwa Ibom State Chapter under the able leadership of Comrade Victor Sunday Etim as State Chairman hereby welcomes with gladness, the Executive Governor of the state, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Caucus wishes to state that the well-intended movement of His Excellency into the Progressives Family in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria is the right step in the right direction which would further help him in his avowed task of ensuring that the dividends of democracy is delivered to every nook and cranny of the state”.
While assuring the governor of its support, the group expressed its conviction that Gov Umo Eno would consider the youths of his new party who had been steadfast over the years, for inclusion as beneficiaries of the programmes of his ARISE Agenda.
“As the military wing of the party, The Caucus wishes to assure His Excellency of the maximum support of the teeming youths of the party.
It is our hope that our dear governor who has demonstrated in the last two years that he is a man that believes in justice and equity, would consider including the steadfast youths of the party as beneficiaries of the various empowerment programmes of his administration’s ARISE Agenda”.
