…harps on hope of victory over hardshipÂ
By Ime Silas
The Interim National Vice Chairman, South-south of the Labour Party, LP, Pst. (Mrs.) Martina Umana has felicitated with her family, friends as well as party faithful and Nigerians within the Christendom, across the country, on the joyous occasion of Easter, being the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In her Easter message, the LP South-south Interim National Vice Chairman also assured that just as Jesus Christ had His victory over death, Nigerians shall survive the current hardship and have the opportunity to effect changes via the ballot, come 2027.
“Celebrating the resurrection of Jesus”, part of her message read, “is about more than just a date on the calendar; it is a reminder that no matter how dark the “Saturday” of our lives feels, Sunday is coming and today is Sunday”.
Likening the sufferings that citizens go through to the ‘Saturday’ that Jesus overcame, hence His resurrection, Mrs. Martina maintained that Nigerians shall overcome their Saturday occasioned by bad leadership.
“The Victory of the Empty Tomb
Today, we celebrate the most powerful “He is” in history: He is risen.
As one of the leaders of our great party, the Labour Party, I can’t feign ignorance of what Nigerians are going through. The hardship occasioned by bad leadership is devastatingly enormous.
But with perseverance and determination, our great party shall present a better alternative as panacea for the country’s current ‘Saturday’.
Furthermore, Easter is the ultimate reminder that love is stronger than death, and grace is louder than sin. We serve a Risen King who didn’t just survive the cross—He conquered it.
To my family, friends, party faithful and indeed, the entire Nigerians, my prayer for you this season is that the same power that rolled away the stone breathes new life into your dreams, your health and your spirit that we may all live to witness a new Nigeria of our collective dreams”.
