How wife set ablaze Army officer in Akwa Ibom State
A Nigerian Army officer currently serving in Akwa Ibom State, Lt. Samson Haruna has lost his life following severe burns he sustained after his wife allegedly set him ablaze during a domestic disagreement.
The sad occurrence was disclosed on Tuesday in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter by a counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama.
According to Makama, the tragic incident which took the life of the medical doctor-turned military officer, occurred on September 22, 2025 at Wellington Bassey Barracks, Ibagwa in Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom.
“A source said the officer, who was also a medical doctor attached to the 6 Battalion Regimental Medical Officer, RMO, had a heated argument with his wife, Mrs. Samson Haruna, which resulted in her dousing him with petrol, PMS, and setting him on fire”, Makama revealed.
