IPAC scores Gov Eno high on impactful leadership

‎…as Blessing Umo emerges A’Ibom IPAC Chairman for a second term

The National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Dr. Yusuf Dantalle, has commended Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for his impactful leadership strides, citing significant infrastructural transformation and peaceful engagements in the State.

Speaking on Wednesday March 4, 2026, at Government House, Uyo, when he led a delegation of the national leadership and new IPAC State Executive Committee members on a courtesy visit to the Governor, Dr. Dantalle stated that from what he has seen within the few days of stay in the state, it was obvious that the Governor was channeling the resources of the State into meaningful development projects.

He noted that IPAC was not an opposition political platform, but a collection of all registered political parties, stressing that the new IPAC leadership seeks to ensure that political parties remain veritable vehicles to power and channels of amplifying the positive performances in governance without bias.

Dr. Dantalle also urged IPAC members to always separate politics from governance, and further commended Governor Eno for his contribution to the peaceful conduct of the body’s election in the state, noting that it was a demonstration of inclusivity in leadership.

The Chairman, thereafter, presented the new State leadership of the body to the Governor, and urged them to collaborate with the State Government in its ARISE Agenda.

In his response, Governor Eno congratulated the new executive of IPAC led by the Chairman, Mrs Bessing Umoh, and thanked the National Chairman for upholding the good moral principles of the State during the election, noting that peace is naturally prioritized and valued in all State affairs.

He urged the new executive to pursue peace and promote collaboration for the overall interest of the State, rather than opposing growth, unity and development in the guise of criticism.

“We thank God for the conduct of your election, and we thank all the participants for making it peaceful. In Akwa Ibom, we naturally preach peace because without peace, there is really nothing anybody can do. We would be fighting. Once trouble starts, we only know how it starts, we don’t know how it would end, and other things that would be involved.

“So, for Akwa Ibom, God has blessed us with peace, and we continue to preach peace in whatever we do.

He promised to welcome constructive criticisms, strengthen collabration with IPAC, and maintain a positive view of the committee, rather than view them as opposition.

At the visit were the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo; Commissioner for Local Government and Chietaincy Affairs, Hon.
