The Nasarawa State Police Command has successfully arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered an expensive vehicle that was recently stolen from the nation’s capital.
The suspect, identified as Chigozie Samuel, was caught after a quick response by law enforcement officers.
According to police reports, the suspect was found in possession of a Toyota Prado SUV. The vehicle had reportedly been snatched at gunpoint from its owner in Abuja before being driven into neighboring Nasarawa State.
The arrest is being hailed as a win for inter-state security cooperation. After the vehicle was stolen in Abuja, security alerts were sent out to nearby regions.
Police officers in Nasarawa, acting on intelligence and increased patrol efforts, spotted the vehicle and moved in to intercept it.
The suspect, Chigozie Samuel, was taken into custody without further incident. The police are currently investigating whether he is part of a larger car-snatching syndicate that operates between the Federal Capital Territory and other parts of Northern Nigeria.
