Governor of Taraba state, His Excellency, Barr Agbu Kefas has sworn in a new judge of the High Court and two Khadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal.
While Justice Mansura Bargami was sworn in as judge of the High Court; khadis Aliyu Abubakar and Yakubu Mohammed took oaths of office as Khadis of the Sharia Council of Appeal.
In a post event statement, Gov Kefas charged the the newly sworn in judicial officers to uphold the principles of fairness, justice and integrity in the discharge of their official functions, emphasizing that the judiciary remained the bedrock of democracy.
According to the Taraba State Chief Executive “Earlier today, I swore in Justice Mansura Bargami as a Judge of the High Court, Khadi Aliyu Yaya Abubakar and Khadi Yakubu Mohammed as Khadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal”.
The governor further noted that the ceremony which was held at the Exco Chamber, TY Danjuma House in Jalingo, also witnessed the inauguration of the Disabilities Commission, as well as the swearing-in of newly appointed Special Advisers.
“I charged the newly sworn-in judicial officers to uphold the principles of justice, fairness, and integrity in the discharge of their duties, stressing that the judiciary remains the bedrock of democracy.
Our administration’s resolve to ensure equal opportunities for persons living with disabilities is unshakable, and we will continue to work alongside all stakeholders who are interested in the development of Taraba state”, Gov Kefas said.
