Personnel of the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have apprehended a notorious kidnap kingpin, one Alhaji Abubakar Bawa.
According to a statement from the Brigade, the suspected kidnap kingpin who had been on the security watchlist, was arrested in the southern parts of Taraba state.
“Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army have arrested another notorious kidnapping kingpin, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, in Southern Taraba”, the statement noted.
The statement therefore quoted the Brigade’s Commander, Brigadier-General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa as commending his men, while also reiterating the sustenance of the aggressive clearance operations.
“Bawa is linked to a wider criminal syndicate responsible for multiple kidnappings and violent attacks. The Brigade’s Commander, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops and reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining aggressive clearance operations. The suspect is currently in custody undergoing further interrogation”.
