…vows to take fight to them
In a rare display of courage and determination to protect the lives and property of indigenes and residents of his state, the governor of Kogi state, His Excellency, Ahmed Usman Ododo has vowed never to negotiate or bow to the bandits.
Referring to them as criminals, Governor Ododo, while acknowledging the presence of bandits in Kogi state, was quoted to have said that rather than negotiate with them, he would take the fight to them in their hideouts.
According to the governor: “Bandit Commanders have relocated to Kogi State, We will not wait for them to Attack us, we are going to take the fight to them. We are not going to bow to any criminal and we are not going to negotiate with them”
It could be recalled that bandits, generally believed to be of Fulani dissent, have in recent times, killed and kidnapped many persons amongst whom are security personnel, farmers, women and school children mostly in the northern region of Nigeria.
