The lifeless body of a suspected vandal identified as Mr Emeka Chikere has been found at Obohia Ibere in Ikwuano local government area of Abia state.
According to a Facebook user, Ikechukwu Kelvin who reported via social media post, the deceased was allegedly electrocuted as he went to steal cable from an electric transformer at Obohia Ibere community.
It was learnt that the people of Obohia Ibere had been experiencing power outage for some time now only for electricity to be restored yesterday night.
According to the post, as the deceased was on the transformer attempting to steal the cable, electric power was restored and did not last up to five minutes.
It was learnt that residents woke up in the morning to see the liveless body of the suspect vandal having been electrocuted the very moment electricity was restored.
Police authorities in the area have yet to issue a statement on the incident.
