…empowers nine youths

The Personal Assistant to His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State; Hon. (Prince) Inyeneobong Ekpe, on Wednesday, 24th December, 2025, hosted critical stakeholders of his Ward, Northern Iman Ward 2, Etinan local government area, with a pledge to make the event a recurring one.




The event which had in attendance dignitaries including wife of the Executive Chairman of Etinan, former Etinan Council Caretaker Chairmen and Vice Chairman, political office holders, etc, also featured the formal opening of the ARISE Constituency office and first phase of empowerment of nine youths from each village of the Ward.
Speaking while performing the formal opening of the Constituency office, wife of the Executive Chairman of Etinan, Mrs. Emily Uko Umoh who served as Chairman of the occasion, commended the governor’s aide for bringing government closer to the people at the grassroots through his activities.
She urged the people of Northern Iman Ward 2 to continually support His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno’s administration and the government of Etinan LGA.
In his remarks, the Personal Assistant to the Governor representing Northern Iman Ward 2, Hon (Prince) Inyeneobong Ekpe, while thanking the All Progressives Congress (APC) and all the critical stakeholders for the support given to his boss, also used the occasion to appreciate the governor for giving him the opportunity to serve.
Hon Inyeneobong said: “Following my appointment as Personal Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, representing Northern Iman Ward 2, I had returned to the ward; that was barely one year in office, with deep gratitude. During the event, I shared hundreds of wrappers with women across the nine villages and other packages.
This second visit today, marked the opening of the ARISE Ward Constituency Office in Northern Iman Ward 2. The essence of this office is to help proffer first hand grassroot advocacy and governance inclusion.
Today’s occasion would also be used for Christmas celebrations with the entire ward and critical stakeholders, as well as a kickoff of youth empowerment initiative, which is aimed at supporting one person per village”.
Giving more details, the Governor’s Aide continued “The programme is designed to empower youths across the nine (9) villages in Northern Iman Ward 2 through capacity-building opportunities in the following areas:
Two (2) years training in Patent Medicine & Pharmacology, two (2) years training in Fashion Design & Professional Tailoring and two (2) years training in Computer Technology & Software Applications”.
Hon Inyeneobong urged the beneficiaries of the programme to pay serious attention to the training in order to justify the essence of the programme.
Others who spoke glowingly of the Governor’s Aide included two former Caretaker Chairmen of Etinan LGA, Obong (Hon) Donald Uko and Obong (Hon) Kufre Ikono and a University Don, Obong Utibe Mboho.
Others were a former Vice Chairman; Hon Attah Frank, an Aide to the governor; Amb. Sampson Akpan, the Ward Political Leader; Otuekong Uduak Ikpat, amongst others.
Present at the event were the Councillor representing Northern Iman Ward 2; Hon. Obot Albert, Village Heads, APC Ward Chairman and his executives, and a host of other critical stakeholders of the ward.
