By our correspondent

The Founder and Spiritual Leader of Christ Deliverance Ministries, CDM, Lagos, His Grace, Prophet Ekong Ituen has prophesied that Dr. Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna will win the Gombe State governorship election slated for 2027, describing the race as one that “will be tough” but will end in Gwamna’s favour.

Making public his prophetic insight via a statement released on July 29, 2026, the cleric said his declaration was based on a revelation “as reflected in the spiritual realm.”

“I see Dr Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna, winning the election,” Prophet Ekong said, adding that “I therefore urge candidates of other political parties not to waste their time and resources, rather they should prepare their congratulatory messages in anticipation of the result.”

The prophet also commended the incumbent governor, Alhaji Muhammed Inuwa Yahaya, describing him as “a good man, who loves his people and the State.”

Prophet Ituen called on residents to pray for the governor and for peace in Gombe, “to avert any security challenge.”

References to past predictions
In the statement, Prophet Ekong cited several of his previous political predictions which he said were published in national dailies ahead of the 2015, 2019 and 2023 elections.

He listed the prophetic declarations relating to the 2023 elections as published in The Telegraph Newspaper on January 11, 2023, Vanguard Newspaper on January 15, 2023, and Tnn News on January 16, 2023, in which he named President Bola Tinubu and 12 governors, including Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, as winners.

For 2019, he referenced prophecies in Daily Sun, Vanguard, Telegraph and The Nation NB newspapers between December 2018 and January 2019, where he said David Umahi and Ben Ayade would win in Ebonyi and Cross River states respectively, and that President Muhammadu Buhari and six governors including Babagana Zulum and Nasir El-Rufai would win.

The fierce Man of God also said he predicted “political humiliation” for then-incumbent governors Rochas Okorocha of Imo and Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun after 2019.

On the 2015 presidential election, the prophet recalled a Daily Sun newspaper publication of January 20, 2014 and January 15, 2015, where he had declared that former President Goodluck Jonathan “will not win” and would “beg Obasanjo for reconciliation.”

As at the time of this report, political parties in Gombe were yet to begin formal campaigns for the 2027 elections, which are scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for January and February of next year.
