…speaks on own presidential ambition

Former Minister of Transportation under (now late) President Muhammadu Buhari, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi has dismissed suggestions that he may run as a Vice Presidential candidate alongside former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
In a statement credited to him, the former Governor of Rivers State also debunked any possibility of him being part of any joint presidential ticket in the 2027 elections as Vice Presidential Candidate.
Amaechi who was Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council in 2015 and 2019, also revealed that rather than being any one’s running mate, he will be contesting for Nigeria’s number one seat.
Mr. Amaechi’s clarification came amidst recent comment by the 2023 presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku, in which he had suggested the former Rivers’ State governor as one of his choices for Presidential running mate.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who’s been presidential aspirant and candidate of the Action Congress (AC), All Progressives Congress (APC) and recently, PDP, is now a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The dethroned ‘Waziri Adamawa’ has in many fora, announced his intention to seek the presidential ticket of his new party, the ADC, for the 2027 presidential election.
