Uniuyo Alumni Election: Thomas Thomas thanks Gov Eno, others for support

APPRECIATION LETTER

Beloved Alumni of the University of Uyo,

With deep humility and heartfelt gratitude, I write to thank you for electing me as the Publicity Secretary of our great University of Uyo Alumni Association in a hotly contested election.

Not that I am the best, but the University of Uyo Alumni have chosen to send me to speak on their behalf this time—and for that, I am truly thankful. I thank God Almighty for granting me strength, grace, and wisdom throughout the campaign journey.

I extend profound appreciation to my boss, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno , who encouraged me to pursue this aspiration, even though I had not informed him ahead of time. In an uncommon show of humility and support, he reached out to me personally and urged me to go ahead. That singular gesture gave me the confidence that I could succeed against all odds.

My sincere thanks go to our President, Comrade Ekerette Adiaiduo , and his campaign team, who believed in me enough to co-opt and campaign vigorously for me. He is indeed a visionary leader and a team player.

To every supporter, well-wisher, and voter—especially those who supported me without even knowing me personally—I say a big thank you. May God bless and reward you richly.

Permit me to specially recognize the following individuals who stood with me from the beginning and offered consistent encouragement:
Dr. Samuel Gregory Effiong (SameeGreg), Akan Samuel Udofia , Uko Clement, Emmanuel Asanga, Nsisong Innocent Samuel, Emem Thomas, Ime Silas, Udeme Obo , and so many others too numerous to mention. May God bless you all abundantly in Jesus’ name.

To my worthy opponents, Pastor Idy James and Elder Manasseh Umoette—thank you for your maturity, grace, and exemplary sportsmanship. You both ran commendable campaigns. That you were not elected at this time is only a matter of timing—not capability. I deeply appreciate your goodwill messages and willingness to move forward in unity. That is the true spirit of alumni brotherhood.

As your Publicity Secretary, I promise to do my utmost best to make Uniuyo boldly heard across every platform. I will uphold the dignity of our alma mater and communicate our shared values with pride, excellence, and integrity.

Once again, thank you all. Let us build together.

With gratitude,

Thomas Thomas
Publicity Secretary
University of Uyo Alumni Association
