Ghana Air Crash: How Sarpong died in lieu of Party National Chairman, Nketia

Kojo Danquah, the Deputy CEO of the Students’ Loan Trust Fund, has revealed something shocking regarding some persons who perished in the tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

Speaking as a guest on UTV’s Adehye Nsroma Show on Thursday, August 7, he disclosed that the National Vice Chairman of the party, Dr. Samuel Sarpong, was originally not intended to be part of the official launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) in Obuasi.

He stated that the National Chairman of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, was the one who was scheduled to attend the event, but delegated his duties to his Vice Chairman due to unforeseen contingency

According to him, Asiedu Nketia himself made this disclosure to him and others in Koforidua.

“Yesterday when we went to Koforidua, my National Chairman was explaining that he was supposed to have been on the flight, but something had come up, hence the Vice Chairman should stand in his stead. He said he ought to have been on that flight.”

However, unfortunately for Dr. Samuel Sarpong and other high-ranking officials on the flight they crashed at the Sikaman Forest in the Adansi South District in the Ashanti Region.
