Ex-President Obama speaks on ‘despicable’ murder of Charlie Kirk

Former President of the United States of America, USA, Mr Barack Obama has questioned the motivation behind the murder of Charlie Kirk, describing it as ‘despicable violence’.

Obama who posted on his verified social media handles in reaction to the news of Kirk’s passing today, maintained that violence had no place in America’s democracy.

His words “We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children”.

The slain Charlie Kirk was a prominent American conservative political activist, author, and media personality. He passed away today, September 10, 2025, after being shot at Utah Valley University during his “American Comeback” tour. He was 31 years old.

Charlie Kirk’s Life would be remembered for co-founding Turning Point USA (TPUSA) in 2012 at the age of 18, which was aimed at promoting conservative values among young people.

He was also a strong advocate for limited government, free markets, and traditional values, often taking hard-right stances on issues like immigration, LGBTQ rights, and critical race theory.

Kirk hosted “The Charlie Kirk Show” podcast and radio program, and appeared frequently on Fox News and other media outlets.

He was also famous for writing several books, including “The MAGA Doctrine” and “Right Wing Revolution: How to Beat the Woke and Save the West”.

Politically, Kirk was a close ally of current US President, Donald Trump and supported his presidential campaigns.

Kirk was married to Erika Frantzve, a podcaster and businesswoman, and had two children with her.

As at the time of this report, his killer(s) have yet to be identified.
