Annastasia Kinse, a Catholic Reverend Sister who exposed alleged sexual exploitation by their male counterparts -Reverend fathers, has reportedly been sacked.
According to Annastasia Kinse:
“I wish to let the public know that on this day, 24th day of September 2025, I received a letter of dismissal from the Congregation of Mother of Perpetual Help of the Archangels Sisters, dated 21 July 2025. A token of hundred thousand Naira(#100,000) was given to me.
“When I got to the Convent, I Met that my belongings were already packed outside the room I stayed in, and the religious habits were taken away. I pulled the one I had on and submitted it as well. Therefore, I am currently not in possession of any property of the Congregation.
“From my heart, I sincerely thank everyone who has stood by me in prayer and encouragement through this time. Your love and support mean more than words can express.
I am a Catholic! and I love my Church!
Above all, I place my trust in God, whose throne can never be shaken and who never abandons His own.
With gratitude,
Annastasia Kinse”.
It could be recalled that Rev’d Sister Kinse Anastasia of Veritas University, Abuja, had cried out on social media, accusing some Catholic priests and authorities of sexually harassing and maltreating Reverend Sisters.
She has alleged that Sisters were often reduced to “ornaments in Habits” and treated as if they exist to serve priests’ pleasures.
According to her, some priests openly told them that “Sisters are meant to be priests’ wives” and act on it without shame.
She also accused some Church leaders of silencing Sisters and making them vulnerable, while some superiors misuse authority. At the same time, she condemned Sisters who compromise their vows, saying it weakens the dignity of consecrated life.
In her words: “Religious Sisters are not priests’ wives. We are not bedmates. We are women of God. The Church must do better because God is watching.”
Her post had sparked reactions, as many called on the Catholic Church to create safe channels for Sisters to report abuse without fear.
