…warns public against fraudsters, says process is free, portal-based

ABUJA— The Civil Defence, Correction, Fire and Immigration Services Board, CDCFIB, has released the list of candidates shortlisted for the final stage of the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise into four major paramilitary agencies in Nigeria.
In a notification signed by the Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. A. M. Jibril (Rtd) on 28th August, 2026, the Board said it had concluded the assessment and shortlisting process following the recently concluded physical and medical screening exercise.
The shortlisted candidates are those who applied for positions in the Nigerian Correctional Service, NCOS, Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Federal Fire Service, FFS, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
According to the Board, all successful candidates under the Graduate Category are expected to log on to the official CDCFIB recruitment portal from Monday, 31st August to Wednesday, 2nd September 2026. Candidates who applied with NCE, OND, or SSCE qualifications are to check the same portal from Monday, 7th to Wednesday, 9th September 2026.
The portal address is https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng.
How to check
The Board directed shortlisted candidates to visit the portal within their designated dates to confirm their names, select an interview venue closest to them, choose a date and time, and print their letters of invitation.
“Shortlisted candidates are requested to select a venue nearest to them, a date and time, and print their letters of invitation,” the statement read, adding that “Candidates are to appear strictly in the dress code specified in their letters of invitation. For the avoidance of doubt, ONLY candidates who are shortlisted for this final exercise will be granted access to the venue.”
CDCFIB emphasized that no emails will be sent to candidates at any stage of the process. It urged applicants to rely solely on the official portal and other verified communication channels for updates.
“Kindly note that the CDCFIB does not and will not send out emails; all communications should be obtained from the portal,” the Board stated.
Reiterating its commitment to transparency, the Board said the entire recruitment exercise is conducted free of charge and that no applicant is required to pay any fee.
“The Board reiterates that the entire recruitment process is transparent and FREE OF CHARGE. Applicants are therefore advised to disregard any individual or group demanding payment for employment in whatever form and to report such person(s) to the nearest security agency, or person in authority,” the statement added.
This warning comes amid repeated reports in past recruitment cycles of fraudsters posing as recruitment agents and extorting money from desperate job seekers. Security agencies have previously arrested several individuals for selling fake employment letters and collecting money under the guise of “processing fees.”
CDCFIB said candidates who encounter any such demands should report immediately to security agencies for investigation and possible prosecution.
The oral interview marks the final stage of the 2024/2025 recruitment into the four services under CDCFIB’s supervision.
Thousands of Nigerians participated in the earlier physical and medical screening across the 36 states and the FCT, as the Federal Government seeks to fill vacancies and strengthen manpower in the correctional, immigration, fire, and civil defence services.
Successful candidates after the oral interview will proceed to training before deployment to various commands nationwide.
The Board urged all applicants to take note of the portal address and to check regularly for updates, stressing that “all legitimate communications will occur through the official portal, and not via email.”
With the interview dates staggered by qualification category, candidates are advised to avoid the portal within dates not assigned to them to prevent congestion.
As of press time, the portal was yet to be activated for checking, but the Board assured that it will go live on the stated dates.
