…God is answering my prayers – Hon Uko Umoh

Executive governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno has preformed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of an ultramodern Youth Friendly Centre in Etinan local government area.
Speaking before the flagoff on Tuesday, October 21, the governor who was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Water Resources and Sanitation, Hon. Ubuo Ubuo said he believes in grooming the youths to be self-reliant so as to be equipped for future leadership, hence the establishment of the Centre.
“His Excellency, Gov Umo Eno believes that the youths should move away from ‘the youths are here’ syndrome, to self-reliance”, the governor’s representative said, while also lauding the Etinan Council Chairman for his purposeful leadership as could be gleaned from his swiftness in providing land for the project.
On the various benefits of the centre when completed, he continued “The governor believes that the youths should prepare themselves for future leadership. That’s why he initiates the youth friendly centre across the thirty one local government areas of the state.
Etinan is opportune to be the first local government area for this flagoff because you are lucky to have a proactive Chairman. The Chairman, Hon Uko Umoh deserves commendation for his swiftness in providing the land for this project.
He is a performing chairman and his numerous projects speak for his purposeful leadership.
“Let me say here that His Excellency wants Etinan youths to understand the importance of this multipurpose center. Upon completion there’ll be a skill-acquisition department where there’ll be experts to train the youths on different areas of interest.
There’ll also be an ICT hub equipped with computers, internet facilities and lots more. Above all, the state government would provide startup kits and capital for graduands who subjected themselves for the training.
The youths should own this project and guard same jealously against vandalism so that upon completion, it would be used for the benefit of humanity and to the glory of God”.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Council Chairman, Hon. Uko Umoh expressed his deep appreciation to the governor for all the projects he has so far brought to Etinan, saying they’re answers to his prayers.
“Just few months ago, Your Excellency, we recall that you commissioned a newly-built Model Primary school which you started and completed here in Etinan. Today, you are here again to flag off this ultramodern Youth Friendly Centre.
I have been doing my best and praying for peace and development in Etinan. I see these and many other projects coming in as answers to my prayers. On behalf of the people of Etinan local government area, we want to express our sincere gratitude to Your Excellency. We also wish to declare our unalloyed support to your government beyond 2027”, Hon Uko Umoh concluded.
Goodwill messages were presented during the occasion by dignitaries including the member representing Etinan State Constituency at Akwa the Ibom State House of Assembly; Hon. Uduak Ekpo Ufot, Honourable Commissioner for Power; Mr. Iniobong Robson and the Council Vice Chairman; Hon. Imaobong Michael.
Others were the Leader of Etinan Legislative Council; Hon. Ekerette Umoh, APC Chapter Chairman, Comrade Israel Tommy and a host of others.
