Sunday Jackson, a farmer who was sentenced to death by hanging has regained freedom. The Century Newspaper gathered that Mr. Jackson whose sentencing by a lower court was upheld by Apex court, was freed by the Adamawa state governor, Rt. Hon Ahmadu Fintri after intensed pressures by Nigerians and international observers.
A verified source who shared the news on social media platforms says “Sunday Jackson, whose only crime was to defend himself against an invader and terrorist but was handed a death sentence by the Nigerian courts have been freed. He was simply defending himself”.
The poster who identified himself as ‘Mr. Common Sense’, while appreciating Nigerians and others for mounting the pressures, said more ‘justices’ could be achieved.
According to him “Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri granted State pardon to Sunday Jackson after immense pressure from Nigerians and International Observers.
This shows that we can get what we want, the key is Pressure.

For context; Sunday Jackson spent 11 years on death row and even the Apex Court of Nigeria upheld the decision of the lower courts and sentence him to death.
āSunday Jackson, a farmer in Adamawa State, Nigeria, was attacked by an armed Fulani herder, Ardo Bawuro, after confronting him about his cattle grazing on his farmland in 2015. During a struggle, Jackson, who was injured in the attack, managed to seize the herder’s knife and fatally stabbed him multiple times in the throat.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with culpable homicide punishable by death. Jackson maintained he acted in self-defense, a claim that was rejected by the trial court, the Court of Appeal, and finally the Supreme Court of Nigeriaā.
