An American-based Akwa Ibom man, Obong Kingsley Peters , JP, has lauded Gov Umo Bassey Eno, PhD, over his robust fiscal responsibility so far in office.
Peters also commended Gov Eno for not joining other States in the Federation to source for loans, grants, bonds, capital receipts and public private partnership to finance capital expenditure in their 2026 budget.
He applauded the governor for remaining consistent since assumption of office in not pushing his development drive through borrowing from.banks or other financial institutions as this strategy proves his ingenious financial managerial prowess coming from a private sector to leadership which will in future set his administration apart in prudence from the obtuse building of the present from the future.
”I must commend Gov Umo Bassey Eno, PhD for remaining consistent in his approach to fiscal responsibility, l have watched his budgetary execution since he became Governor and we must give it to him for the exceptional financial management prowess he has brought to his administration” he quipped.
Obong Peters also noted that ”How Gov Eno ploughs back the resources of the State into productive means to buttress livelihood, expand development and encourage economic growth is amazing and deserves commendation for his prudent management of resources”.
Peters hails from Etinan LGA and holds the Chieftaincy title of Obong Uforo Akwa Ibom State bestowed on him by the Akwa Ibom State traditional Rulers Council during the Chairmanship of Late Edidem Ime Umoette also said ”When you see a Governor busy empowering his people, exploring local options to financing the State economy, leaves financial books in the open and trying to build the future from the present then he deserves every commendation and is a Governor to keep”.
He also gave a clean bill of health to Gov Umo Eno on his performance in diverse sectors of the State’s economy and wish him well in the days ahead while enjoining the people of the State to rally round him for a second term.
