Nigerian troops escape ambush; kill four terrorists, recover weapons
Troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade, Operation HADIN KAI, in conjunction with local vigilantes, have killed four (4) terrorists during an ambush operation on 30 April 2026 in the Sambisa Forest axis, Borno State.
Acting on credible intelligence, troops deployed to a suspected terrorist crossing point around “Charlie Five” and engaged insurgents advancing from the Yale axis with superior firepower.
Following the encounter, four terrorists were neutralised, while one AK-47 rifle, 12 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two bags of ground maize, and a pack of spaghetti were recovered.
Troops returned safely to base without casualties as clearance and monitoring operations continue in the area.
