…picks APC nomination form
By Our Correspondent
Comrade Ndiana Asuquo has pledged to render to the people of Nsit Ibom State Constituency a purposeful, people-oriented and effective representation at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly with a view to filling a leadership vacuum existing in the Constituency.
Ndiana, who made the pledge in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen after picking a nomination form from the All Progressives Congress, APC, for next year’s state Assembly election, said he made the decision after extensive consultations with critical stakeholders and family.
“After extensive consultations with critical stakeholders, youths, women, and various groups across Nsit Ibom and with approval of my family, it has become abundantly clear that there exists a vacuum; one that calls for purposeful, people-oriented, and effective representation”, the State Assembly hopeful hinted.
The APC stalwart in the statement noted further that his vision of representation goes beyond lawmaking to transformation of lives.
According to him “The collective voice of our people echoes the urgent need for leadership that not only makes laws, but transforms lives.
As the saying goes, “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” We cannot afford to sit on the fence while opportunities pass us by. The time has come to roll up our sleeves and build a future where every citizen of Nsit Ibom can thrive with dignity and self-reliance.
“It is on this note, and with a firm belief in the capacity of our people, that I humbly declare my intention to serve as the Member representing Nsit Ibom State Constituency in the State House of Assembly.
My vision goes beyond the traditional role of lawmaking. I aspire to be a voice that speaks not only within the chambers of legislation but resonates loudly enough to attract meaningful development to our land. I will champion policies that empower our constituents especially our youths and women so they can stand on their own feet, free from vulnerability, dependency, and political manipulation.
As another timeless truth reminds us, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.””.
The State Assembly aspirant also pledged that as a grassrooter who understood the potentials of Nsit Ibom local government area and his people, he would, if voted, draw the attention of the appropriate authorities with a view to harnessing such resources and potentials for the benefits of the people.
“Furthermore, as a grassrooter with clear understanding of Nsit Ibom and her potentials, I will draw the attention of those in authority to the untapped and underutilized resources within Nsit Ibom. I mean resources that, when properly harnessed, can serve as engines of growth, job creation, and sustainable development”, he promised.
Enumerating his plans for his constituents if elected, Ndiana continued: “My representation will be anchored on five strategic pillars:
“-Transformational Skills Development:
Equipping our youths with relevant, modern, and marketable skills that will position them for global competitiveness and local productivity.
“- Sustainable Empowerment Programs:
Moving beyond tokenism to structured empowerment initiatives that create lasting economic independence for women, youths, and small business owners.
“- Economic Revitalization and Resource Development:
Unlocking the hidden wealth of our land by promoting agriculture, local industries, and investment opportunities that will boost our local economy.
” – Quality Education and Human Capital Growth:
Supporting policies and programs that strengthen our educational system and prepare our young people to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.
” – Infrastructure and Community Development:
Advocating for roads, healthcare, electricity, and other essential amenities that will improve the quality of life and open up our communities for growth”.
He called on the people of Nsit Ibom local government area to que behind him, philosophising that a people united can never be defeated.
“To my great party, the APC, I reaffirm my loyalty and commitment. My representation will be guided by the enduring principles of the progressive family, a movement I have proudly been part of through its evolution into a formidable national force. I will uphold the values of integrity, inclusiveness, and service that define our party.
“This is not a personal ambition. Rather, it is a collective mission. Together, we can turn the tide, bridge the gaps, and write a new chapter of hope and prosperity for Nsit Ibom.
Let us rise as one, for a house divided against itself cannot stand, but a united people with a shared vision cannot be defeated.
May God bless Nsit Ibom,
May God bless our great party,
And may God bless us all”, the statement concluded.
