Agribusiness International Conference, Uyo 2026: Why You Must Be In The Room

Africa’s Agribusiness Leaders, Investors, Governments and Markets Converge in Akwa Ibom
UYO, AKWA IBOM — For anyone serious about the future of agriculture, food security, investment and industrial development in Africa, Uyo 2026 is a gathering that should not be missed.

From 25–28 October 2026, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, will host the 5th Agribusiness Roundtable International Conference, bringing together government leaders, investors, financial institutions, agribusiness executives, development partners, commodity producers, technology providers and policymakers from Nigeria and beyond.

The conference is themed “Accelerating Agribusiness Transformation: Unlocking Value Chains to Achieve Food Security, Nutrition Sustainability, Job Creation, Poverty Alleviation, and National Prosperity.”
But Uyo 2026 is about more than another conference. It is about who gets into the room when the conversations that can shape Africa’s agricultural economy are taking place.

Why You Must Be in the Room
Africa possesses enormous agricultural potential, yet much of the continent’s value remains locked in unprocessed commodities, fragmented production systems, inadequate infrastructure and limited access to investment capital and markets.

Uyo 2026 is designed to address these challenges by bringing the key actors together around investment, processing, market access, technology, finance and policy.

The organisers describe the conference as a transaction-oriented platform where ideas can move towards partnerships, projects, investment opportunities and commercial relationships.

1. Where Capital Meets Agribusiness
Access to finance remains one of the biggest constraints to agricultural transformation. Uyo 2026 will provide a platform for project developers, agribusinesses and investors to engage with financial institutions and development finance stakeholders on opportunities across the agricultural value chain.
Discussions will focus on bankable projects, blended finance, investment structuring, agricultural infrastructure, climate finance and private-sector participation. For investors seeking credible opportunities in Africa’s food and agricultural economy, the conference offers an opportunity to identify projects and partners.

2. From Raw Commodities to Industrial Value
Africa cannot achieve its full agricultural potential by simply producing and exporting raw commodities. The future lies in processing at origin, value addition, industrial agriculture and competitive export products.
Uyo 2026 will spotlight opportunities in agro-processing, storage, packaging, mechanisation, cold-chain systems, agricultural technology and other infrastructure required to move agricultural production from subsistence to commercial and industrial scale.
The conference will therefore connect producers and project developers with technology providers, processors, investors and other strategic partners.

3. Unlocking the African Market
The implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is creating new possibilities for businesses seeking to expand beyond their domestic markets. Uyo 2026 will provide a platform for stakeholders to examine how Nigerian and African agribusinesses can become more competitive within the continental market.
Key conversations will include cross-border trade, standards, product quality, logistics, market access, export development and value-chain integration.
For businesses looking beyond Nigeria, the conference presents an opportunity to explore partnerships capable of opening new African markets.

4. Climate-Smart Agriculture and Green Investment
Climate change is increasingly affecting agricultural productivity, food security and rural livelihoods across Africa. The conference will examine opportunities for investment in climate-smart agriculture, sustainable land use, resilient food systems, renewable-energy solutions, environmental sustainability and green financing.
This creates a meeting point for agricultural businesses and investors interested in combining commercial returns with environmental and social impact.

5. Government, Regulators and the Private Sector in One Room
Agricultural transformation requires more than farmers and investors.
It requires effective policies, infrastructure, regulation, incentives and collaboration between government and the private sector. Uyo 2026 will bring together policymakers, government institutions, regulators and business leaders to discuss the practical issues affecting agricultural investment and enterprise development.
The objective is to strengthen the connection between policy and implementation, while identifying opportunities for public-private partnerships and investment facilitation.

A Meeting Point for Opportunity
One of the defining features of Uyo 2026 is its broad stakeholder base.
The conference is expected to attract governors, ministers, government agencies, development partners, financial institutions, investors, agribusiness companies, farmers’ associations, commodity groups, processors, exporters, technology companies and other private-sector players.
For an entrepreneur, it is an opportunity to meet potential partners.
For an investor, it is an opportunity to identify projects.
For a producer, it is an opportunity to explore markets and off-take relationships.
For a technology provider, it is an opportunity to meet businesses that need solutions.
For government, it is an opportunity to showcase investment opportunities and build strategic partnerships.
And for development institutions, it is an opportunity to identify initiatives capable of contributing to food security, job creation, poverty reduction and sustainable economic development.

Why Uyo?
The choice of Uyo as the host city adds another dimension to the conference.
Akwa Ibom State has positioned itself as an emerging destination for investment, infrastructure, tourism and economic development. Its airport connectivity, hospitality infrastructure and relatively serene business environment provide an attractive setting for an international gathering of this nature.
The conference will also provide an opportunity to showcase the agricultural and investment potential of Akwa Ibom and the wider South-South region.

Beyond the conference hall, delegates will have the opportunity to explore a state increasingly positioning itself as a destination for investment and enterprise.
Beyond Speeches: From Conversations to Transactions

The real value of Uyo 2026 will ultimately be measured not by the number of speeches delivered, but by the relationships built, opportunities identified, projects developed and partnerships initiated. That is why the organisers are positioning the conference as more than an academic or ceremonial gathering.
It is a platform for business conversations, investment matchmaking, policy engagement, technology transfer, market access and strategic partnerships.
In a continent where agricultural opportunities are enormous but often disconnected from capital, technology and markets, bringing these stakeholders together in one room could be significant.

The Question Is: Will You Be in the Room?
Africa’s agricultural transformation will not happen by policy statements alone.
It will require capital, technology, entrepreneurship, market access, infrastructure, partnerships and decisive action.

Uyo 2026 seeks to provide a platform where those elements can meet.
Whether you are looking to invest, raise capital, develop an agricultural project, access new markets, secure off-takers, supply technology, expand your agribusiness or build strategic partnerships, the message from the organisers is simple:
Be in the room.
