Akwa Ibom Community in Abuja is set for a grand reception in honour of the state governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD and the Senate President; Distinguished Sen Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON. Also to be received are the members of the National and State Assemblies.

According to a Press Release signed by the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee (CPC), Comrade Tommy Etim Okon, PhD, and the Head of Media and Publicity; Francis Xavier Udoakpan, the grand event would also feature the official inauguration of the 16th Executive Council of the Community.

“The leadership and entire membership of the Akwa Ibom Community, Abuja, proudly announce the forthcoming Grand Reception and Inauguration Ceremony, and warmly extend an invitation to the general public, distinguished personalities, friends, and well-wishers to join in this historic celebration”, the release reads.

Details of the release further show that the event billed to hold at the Akwa Ibom Community Ground, Sector Centre A, Jahi District, Abuja, is fixed for Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 12:00 PM Prompt.

The statement continued: “This landmark event is being organized in honour of: Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, President of the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State,
Members of the National Assembly from Akwa Ibom State, Federal Government Appointees of Akwa Ibom extraction”.

The two major highlights also expected to feature during the ceremony are: “Unveiling of the Ibom Bowl Project, a signature developmental initiative and cultural heritage symbol that reflects the vision, identity, and aspirations of the Akwa Ibom Community in the Federal Capital Territory.

“Inauguration of the 16th Executive Council of the Akwa Ibom Community, Abuja, a new leadership team mandated to drive community growth, unity, and progressive engagement in national affairs”.

The release further stressed that “the event is expected to attract an array of eminent dignitaries, including top political leaders, captains of industry, cultural icons, community stakeholders, and distinguished citizens from across Nigeria. Given its national significance, cultural relevance, and developmental focus, this epoch-making celebration stands as a major milestone in the collective journey of the Akwa Ibom people in Abuja.

The Akwa Ibom Community, Abuja, invites all to be part of this memorable occasion as it ushers in a new era of unity, cultural pride, and transformational engagement”.
