The government of Akwa Ibom State through the Ministry of Education, has announced December 12, 2025 as date for closure of first term of 2025/26 academic session.
In a Press Release signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education; Lady Rose Bassey, the government also fixed Monday, 5th January, 2026 as date for resumption of second term, 2025/26 session.
The release reads “The Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Education wishes to inform the General Public and Education Stakeholders that the closing date for 1st term of 2025/2026 is Friday 12th December, 2025.
The Christmas holidays will last between Monday 15th December, 2025 and Friday 2nd January, 2026.
“Academic activities for 2nd Term 2025/2026 session will commence on Monday 5th December, 2026.
All Public and Private Primary, Secondary and Technical Schools are directed to comply accordingly.
The Honourable Commissioner, Professor Ubong Essien Umoh wishes the pupils and students a restful holiday, a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New year in advance”.
