Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle aimed at strengthening the State Executive Council and aligning it more effectively with the implementation of the ARISE Agenda.
This was revealed today , Monday 25th August, 2025, via a press release signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Prince Enobong Uwah.
In the new postings, Capt. Iniobong Ekong (Rtd.) has been redeployed to head the Ministry of Trade and Investment, while Dr. Ubong Inyang assumes office as the new Commissioner for Lands and Town Planning.
The reshuffling, according to the release, takes immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom State Government has revoked all the land allocations made from May 29, 2023 till date.
This directive was conveyed in a statement signed by the state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Uko Udom, SAN, dated August 25, 2025.
As at the time of this report, it was not clear whether the cabinet reshuffling had any connections to the earlier revocation of lands in the state.
