Breaking! Nigerian Troops topple bandits, recover 529 stolen livestock in Katsina

In a major victory against cattle rustling, troops of the Nigerian Army’s Forward Operation Base (FOB) Malumfashi have recovered 529 stolen livestock from suspected terrorists in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The operation, led by Lieutenant Colonel MM Isa, followed intelligence on the movement of terrorists led by Idi Abasu Aiki, brother of notorious bandit leader Ado Aliero. The troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce battle, forcing them to flee and abandon the stolen livestock.

The recovered animals include 290 cows, 238 sheep, one donkey, and one motorcycle. Unfortunately, 14 cows were killed in the crossfire. The operation was a success, with no casualties on the side of the troops.

The Nigerian Army’s General Officer Commanding 8 Division, Major General Paul Koughna, has commended the troops for their bravery and professionalism, reassuring the public of the Army’s commitment to fighting crime in the region.

The recovered livestock have been handed over to the relevant authorities for verification and return to their rightful owners. This operation is a significant blow to the activities of bandits in the region, and a testament to the Nigerian Army’s determination to protect the country’s citizens and their property.
